1. ISLAM



INTRODUCTION

Islam is said to be the second topmost religion in the world, Islam is about 24.9%. over 1.907 billion people follows Islam the followers of Islam are called Muslims. Muslims believe in one God that is Allah and they believe that there is no God except Allah. 

HOLY BOOK

The holy book of Islam is Holy Quran that was revealed to Prophet Muhammad ( P.B.U.H ). Holy Quran is the source of guidance for all the Muslims. It was not revealed as a book but it was revealed in the form of text or verses on Holy prophet and the verses or texts were written on woods, clothes, paper etc, since at the time of Holy prophet there was no need to compile the verses of the Quran because people used to learn the Quran in their minds and were called Hafiz but when the people who were against of Islam started killing the Hafiz's and then the need arise to compile the Quran in book form. There are many different interpretations on compilation of the Quran and now Muslims have the Quran as a source of guidance to them.

BELIEFS

There are five pillars of Islam that is Shahada (declaration of faith), Namaz (salah), Zakat (charity), Roza (fasting), Hajj(pilgrimage) if the Muslim performs all these five pillars then he has perfected the faith. The faith of Muslims is based on kalma tayyaba the first part of kalma tayyaba is "la illaha illallah" which means there is no God but Allah and the second part of kalma tayyaba is "Muhammadur rasulillah" which means Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is the messenger of Allah and one can enter in Islam by reciting kalma tayyaba. Muslims place of worship is Mosque where they offer 5 daily prayers.

2. CHRISTIANITY


INTRODUCTION

Christianity is the top religion and Christianity is  about 31.11% in the whole world, over 2.382 people follows Christianity. Christian believes in one God "Jesus" and they believe that Jesus is the son of God. They believe that God sent his son on earth to save the humanity from wrong doings, violation, social evils, immorality etc.   

HOLY BOOK

The Holy book of Christians is Bible. Christians combined these three books "tawarat", "zabur" and "injeel" formed a new book which was named as Bible. Bible is divided into two parts "old testament" and "new testament". Old testament is also known as "tawrat" the stories and incidents of Hazrat Musa (a.s) are described in this book. Bible contains 66 books. 39 books out of 60 are the Old Testament. It is the first part of God's story of salvation. "Salvation" is the long work of God that saves us from our sins. "Sin" is what happened when people chose to live their own way instead of God's way in the world that God created. The second part is called the New Testament. Story of the life of Jesus Christ is described in this book. The four different kinds of this story in the New Testament are named as Gospels. After the Gospels, there is also the story of what happened to the church after the death of Jesus.

BELIEFS

The main belief of Christians is that they believe that Jesus is the son of God and the Messiah (Christ). Christians believe that Jesus as the Messiah was appointed by God as the savior of mankind and hold the view that Jesus' coming was the fulfillment of the messianic prophecies of the Old Testament.



3. HINDUISM



INTRODUCTION

Hinduism is the main religion of India and about 1.161 billion people follows Hinduism. It is included in one of the worlds oldest religion and is considered as third topmost religion after Islam and Christianity. 

BELIEFS

Hindus worships feminine energy in the form of "Goddess shakti". The concept of worshipping feminine energy is only in Hinduism and not in any other religion. Hindus believes and worships millions of thousands of Gods which includes three major Gods Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver) and Shiva (the destroyer).

HOLY BOOK

There is no specific book that represents Hinduism but they believe in texts like Vedas that represents eternal truth and were revealed by God according to them.

4. BUDDHISM



INTRODUCTION

Buddhism is one of the world's major religions. It originated in South Asia around the 5th century BC with Siddhartha Gautama and spread throughout Asia and the rest of the world over the following millennia.

HOLY BOOK

The "Tripitakas" are considered the holy books of Buddhism. Tripitaka is the name for the sacred texts of Buddhism. It is consist of the Dharma, or the teachings of the Buddha, as well as commentary and rules for monks and nuns. The three parts of the Tripitaka are the Vinaya Basket, which contains rules for monks; the Sutta basket, which contains the Dharma or teachings of the Buddha, and the Abhidhamma basket, which contains commentaries on the Dharma. The Tripitaka is not scripture in the same sense as the Bible or the Koran. Instead, it is a term used for various ancient compilations of Buddhist texts, such as the Pali Canon or the Chinese Buddhist Canon.

BELIEFS

 Siddhartha Gautama was the first person to attain this state of enlightenment and was and is still known as the Buddha. Buddhists do not believe in any god, but there are many supernatural figures in which they believe. Buddhists believe in a cycle of rebirth into different bodies. This is associated with "karma", which refers to how a person's good or bad actions in the past or in their past lives can affect the future. The Buddha taught the Four Noble Truths. The first truth is called "Suffering (dukkha)" which teaches that everyone suffers in some way in life. The second truth he teaches is “The Origin of Suffering (samudāya). This says that all suffering comes from desire (tanhā). The third truth is "The cessation of suffering (nirodha)" and it says that it is possible to stop suffering and attain enlightenment. The fourth truth, "The Path to the Cessation of Suffering (magga)" is about the Middle Path, which are the steps to attain enlightenment.

5. JUDAISM


INTRODUCTION

Judaism is the smallest of the five major religions. The worldwide population of Jews is estimated at approximately 14 million. About 41% of the Jewish population lives in Israel and 41% lives in the United States, with most of the rest concentrated in Europe and elsewhere in North America.

HOLY BOOK

The Hebrew Bible, also referred to as the Tanakh, is the primary holy text of the Jewish faith. It contains the same books as the Old Testament of the Christian Bible, although in a different order. Torah is made up of  first five books of Hebrew Bible. The Talmud is considered as the another holy text in Judaism. It includes an extensive collection of Jewish laws and the teachings of the faith.

BELIEFS

Judaism is a monotheistic religion who follows and worship only one true God. It is actually the oldest monotheistic religion. The Ten Commandments plays crucial part in the teachings of Judaism. Even outside of God's law outlined in the Ten Commandments, righteousness and justice are central to the teachings of Judaism. These are the most important teachings and principles of Judaism: there is only one God, The God is incorporeal and eternal, who wants all people to do what is fair and merciful. All people are created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with honor and high esteem.
